Why Transitional Kindergarten?
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) at Capitol Collegiate Academy is available for children who turn four years old on or before September 1. This program is a welcome bridge between preschool and kindergarten, helping young learners adjust and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. TK provides children with the skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to move into kindergarten fully prepared for future success.
A Strong Focus on Literacy
Early literacy is the key to building an excellent educational foundation upon which all future learning is built. Capitol Collegiate Academy uses research-based literacy instruction in TK through 2nd grade. Every student transitions from learning how to read to becoming a reader who uses their skills to explore and learn about everything.
Coordinated Curriculum and Consistency
Our TK program fully aligns with Capitol Collegiate’s academic standards, covering common core curriculum from TK through 8th grade. Curriculum, materials, and methods are carefully coordinated across grade levels, providing rigorous and smooth continuity of high-quality learning from TK to graduation.

Enrollment Information
To enroll in Kindergarten, children must turn five years old on or before September 1. To enroll in Transitional Kindergarten, children must turn four years old on or before September 1. Visit our office at 2118 Meadowview Road and explore the TK classroom.
